Your letterbox design says something about you
Everyone seems to assume that the letterbox you have in front of your house should display your house number and little else. In fact you have a wide range of options when designing a letterbox, including what you have on it.
Of course it always pays to have your house number on the letterbox to avoid any problems with your postie delivering the wrong letters.
However there is no reason why you cannot add your name, or names or perhaps family name to your letterbox, often that matter any little saying that you wish.
You could put your business name on it, or you can put your street name. There are no regulations requiring that you only put your street number on a letterbox.
And of course there are also no regulations governing the design of your letterbox. Innovative people have come up with all sorts of weird and wonderful looking letterboxes, many of which look fantastic.
And having a unique and interesting design to your letterbox gives it that personal touch and said something to your visitors about the occupants.
However it is important when designing a letterbox to remember that Australia Post do specify minimum dimensions for a letterbox to allow for average size letters to be properly delivered. Read the rest of this entry
